Resolution adopted calling for resignation of Todd Courser

The Lapeer County Republican Party gathered for their monthly Executive Committee Meeting and presented a resolution calling for the resignation of State Rep. Todd Courser.  The resolution, presented below, was duly adopted by the Executive Committee at a meeting held on the 20th day of August, 2015.

LAPEER COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

RESOLUTION AS TO TODD COURSER

DEMAND FOR RESIGNATION AND DISASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, State Representative Todd Courser has brought dishonor and embarrassment to the people of Lapeer County and to the Lapeer County Republican Party; and

WHEREAS, Todd Courser has been recorded in the act of directing his taxpayer paid staff to distribute an obscene and untruthful email which Courser describes as a “controlled burn” in which he openly states in the recording as “a little bit of truth mixed in with a lot lies” (May 19, 2015 recording); and

WHEREAS, Todd Courser has failed in his duty to represent the people of Lapeer County by his non-attendance at nine House Committee meetings this year as well as his failure to attend local meetings in Lapeer County; and

WHEREAS, our Republican Congresswoman Candice Miller has issued a statement that “Todd Courser has proven to be completely unfit to represent the hardworking residents of Lapeer County”;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lapeer County Republican Party Executive Committee hereby demands that Todd Courser submit his resignation as State Representative so that a competent Republican can be elected to represent the people of Lapeer County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Todd Courser is banned from participating in or displaying any literature or signs at events paid for by the Lapeer County Republican Party, such as event booths or parade groups.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the membership of Todd Courser in the Lapeer County Republican Party is hereby revoked pursuant to Article III.B of the By-Laws.
