The topic of the 2021 essay was “Nick Sandmann, the Covington Catholic High School student made nationwide headlines while attending a March for Life in Washington D.C. Many made quick judgment of this young man from the way the media portrayed him during his encounter with a Native American protester. Do you think the major media sources contribute to division in America? What, if anything, can be done to require fact-based truthful reporting?”
